Haha, yeah!  I don’t like the “It Gets Better” campaign, because it doesn’t get better for everyone.

Also, there is something ageist about telling teens, “Of course this time period is awful! But, it’s okay, because once you reach adulthood you will be happy!”

A lot of the people featured in the “It Gets Better” campaign are white, and supposedly well-off.  So, that gives them an unearned leg up.  I’m not the best person to comment on this, because I have race and class privilege myself.  I’m just going to say, it’s pretty inconsiderate to tell people who have less privilege than you that it “gets better” and show yourself as an example.
